Bethel Christian Academy provides a full fine arts program for both our elementary and high school students. We are a member of the North Carolina Christian School Association. Our students compete in several fine arts competitions throughout the year with this organization.
In early February there is an Academic Testing Competition for grades 3-12. Students may take tests in a number of subjects. These test are then graded and entered into competition with students all over the state of North Carolina.
Elementary students compete only on a state level. High School students who win at the state level then go on to the National competition located at Bob Jones University in Greenville, South Carolina.
BCA has had numerous winners in the fine arts competitions throughout the years including several high school students who have gone on to compete on the National level. Our goal at BCA is to train the whole student. Fine Arts is just one of those areas that make up the well balanced student.
The BCA Fine Arts program strives for excellence. We believe that god has gifted each child differently. It is our responsibility to find those gifts and “fine-tune” them so that each child may glorify God with the abilities he’s been given.
We begin early in the elementary with art classes and music classes. Many of our students have talents in these areas. Each week every class has both an art class and a music class. These classes prepare students for classroom activities, program performances, as well as preparing them for our fine arts competition in the spring.
The North Carolina Christian School Association hosts an Elementary Fine Arts Competition every April. The competition is open to grades 3 through 6. Each grade competes against its own grade level. Students may compete in everything from a spelling bee to art work to music. Information is sent home every January in preparation for this competition. Please contact your child’s teacher or the school office for more information.
